If you still struggle with Rule 5, don't deny yourself the unhealthy food, still eat it, but only after your healthy starters. If you can't finish it and feel stuffed - it doesn't matter, as this will slowly change your perception of a vice food and you won't crave it as much. This will have the same effect as having a stomach stapling operation (but without the expense, health risks or long term side effects).

If you are struggling with finding something healthy to eat beforehand, go back to Rule 3 and keep experimenting.

If you still can't motivate yourself to have something like fruit and low cal drinks before your normal meal; think of what you would say to a dying child who needed to take some medicine to potentially save their life. Now think of what you would say to them if they replied to you with - 'why don't you?'.
