How many animals do you see in the wild which are overweight? There are none (only pets, which are over-fed by humans will become overweight), this is because obesity is a
human mental disorder.
When you look at the images on the left, do you think big is beautiful or something else? If it's not ok for animals to be like that, then why is it ok for humans?
We have a natural ability to know when we are really hungry, but have lost this sense due to the Western lifestyle.
Labour saving devices, a shorter working week, bombardment of advertising for unhealthy snacks everywhere you go - it's a minefield out there. Western society makes it difficult to avoid the lure of unhealthy eating. This is why we need to tune in to the tricks of the marketing men so we can see them coming and know how to re-take control of our senses.
If you can't control you're weight - your weight will control you. It will control how you feel physically and emotionally, it will dictate whether or not you go out, it will dictate your energy levels, where you sit on bus/train, how you feel first thing on a morning, how you feel when you get dressed etc.
Do you eat to live or live to eat? Often, people who have a problem with their weight, do so because there isn't much else in their life which brings happiness. If this is you and it were true, then your idea of great happiness should be something like the Star Wars character Jabba The Hutt - 200kg in weight, eating 24 hours per day, stuck in the same spot and not doing anything else other than eating. Does the sound of this make you happy? If not, then stop and find something in life more important than food, find something else which can bring you happiness.
There must be something you've always wanted to do as a child, but never got around to it. Find something else to focus upon and occupy your time. Even if it's only researching on Google about a new hobby - this costs you nothing.
